On Tuesday, February 12, 2008, the Campton Christian Church will be hosting its second annual Valentine’s Dinner at 6:30 p.m. The meal will be provided free of charge and we will enjoy a time of fun and fellowship to follow. This event is open for anyone to attend. If possible, we would like to know if you plan on coming so that we know how much food to provide. On Saturday, January 26, 2008, we will be having a Family Movie Nightat the church. All families and everyone from the community are invited to attend. Just an announcement and invitation for anyone reading this: On Sunday, December 23, 2007, we will be holding two Sunday services at the Campton Christian Church. We will have our regular Sunday morning worship service at 11:00 a.m., but will also be having our second-annual Christmas Candlelight Service that evening at 6:00 p.m. There will be a meal following the Candlelight Service. Regardless of whether or not we want to accept it, it’s just about time for our kids to get ready to head back to school in the fall. Wolfe County schools start back on August 8th, and so we at the church will be hosting a Back to School Party for kids in the community on Tuesday, August 1st. For this party, we are collecting school supplies. For the next few weeks, there will be a box in the church to place school supplies in. There are many kids in our area who are in need of assistance when it comes to purchasing school supplies, and we want to collect as many as we can to be able to help our community’s youth. As you know, this past Sunday was Father’s Day. To celebrate the day, after church I drove home and spent the day with my own father and the rest of my family. Each time I get to see my family these days makes me realize how lucky I am to have the family that I do. For those of you that don’t know, I grew up in Mackville, Kentucky, with both of my parents and four other siblings. With cousins and other close friends never far away, I always had a big family to surround and support me. Now that I have moved away from that family, I realize just how important they are to me personally. Read more …
