Well, fall is officially upon us. That’s right - we’ve come through yet another summer season. It seems like just last week that the weather started getting warmer and families were planning their vacations. The fall season is a time of change. Christian author Max Lucado tells a story about a lady who had a pet parakeet named Chippie. Chippie didn’t know it, but he was in for a bad day.
One day his owner was vacuuming out his cage, as she always did. Unfortunately, the phone rang, and the woman turned to answer the phone, and before she realized what she’d done, she heart the sound of poor little Chippie getting sucked up into the vacuum cleaner. Read more …

As you know, this past Sunday was Father’s Day. To celebrate the day, after church I drove home and spent the day with my own father and the rest of my family. Each time I get to see my family these days makes me realize how lucky I am to have the family that I do. For those of you that don’t know, I grew up in Mackville, Kentucky, with both of my parents and four other siblings. With cousins and other close friends never far away, I always had a big family to surround and support me. Now that I have moved away from that family, I realize just how important they are to me personally. Read more …
